Brazil has a comparable site to eBay called MercadoLivre, which is the number one online ecommerce site (Economist Intellegence Unit). Because the usage of the internet is growing so rapidly in Brazil, e-commerce sales have doubled in the last two years. Brazil is a very promising country in the area of ecommerce, and looks to have a bright future in that arena.

Along with being very successful as a vendor for music products, CDNow.com was also very successful with early online advertisement and email marketing.
