...they’re so nice and do wonderful things. They make pretty music and bring joy to people. Mockingbirds don’t harm anyone or anything. On the other hand, another type of bird is the blue jay is very aggressive. They attack other birds for just being near their nest. Blue Jays are known to will fly around and chase other birds away. After chasing them away, the Blue Jay steals their nest and brings them back to their own. They will also steal the eggs of other birds and the babies as well. In Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, characters such as Boo Radley, and Tom Robinson, are examples of an important theme in the book relating to mockingbirds. They are alike in the fact that they aren’t harming anyone, and it would be a sin to harm or hurt them.
During the novel, the main character Scout, her brother Jem, and their summer friend Dill, take part in spying on the “neighborhood creep”, Boo Radley. All the neighbors’ gossip about him, they even told his stories. One example was, “Boo drove the scissors into his parent’s leg, pulled them out, whipped them on his pants, and resumed his activities” (11). The children didn’t know if the stories were true or not, but the town folk believes them. The children would sneak out at night to try and see in the Radley house however, they were unsuccessful. Despite the rumors, there was a good side to this mysterious figure. Jem and Scout would pass an oak tree coming to and from school. Everyday there was a new present for them, ranging from gum to soap figures. At first, the children do not know who these presents were from, but they later discover that they were from Boo. Boo not only shows that he is friendly, he shows he is caring. During the fire at Mrs. Maudie’s house, Scout was outside watching in the freezing whether, because Scout was cold a kind gentleman wrapped a blanket around her, out of pure love and kindness....
