My survival includes using Axia’s educational resources, upholding academic honesty, setting and achieving goals, managing time wisely, fostering reading comprehension and retention, and applying personality and learning styles.
Using Axia’s Educational Resources
As an Axia student I have become familiar with Axia’s resources. The ones I find most helpful are the online library and the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE.) The online library is simple to use, just log in to your main Axia page, mouse over My Learning Resources, the Tools & Tutorials, the go to Library in the menu provided. The search that has worked best for me so far is using the Article Database – Major then selecting one of the three available search engines. There is also the Ask a Librarian tool where you can submit a form if you’re having a problem with your search.
The CWE is also a very helpful tool. It provides an easy to use plagiarism checker to ensure that your work is your own original idea. All you have to do is go to the same menu as you found the library, but select Center for Writing Excellence. On the left hand side there is a menu where you would select the Submit a Paper button. From there simply upload the paper and the system will begin its check. When you submit a paper it also goes through a WritePoint check. WritePoint runs a check on the grammar of the paper you submitted and provides suggestions on common grammatical errors. Plagiarism Checker provides easy to read results showing how much of the paper appears to be an original idea, and how much has been copied, or possibly copied from another paper or article. There are also other tools like the thesis generator, sample papers, and grammar guide.
