...plant and animal cells are: the cell membrane, nucleus, golgi complex, ribosomes, and microtubules. These are found inside both the plant and animal cells. Plant cells have plastids or chloroplasts, a cell wall, and vacuoles which are used as storage for water or other substances such as proteins. Because plants contain chloroplasts they can go through photosynthesis and create their own food from sun light. Because animal cells lack a cell wall they are more flexible. A lot of the internal structures of plant and animal cells are similar to each other and perform the same tasks. Because of the cell wall that plants have the shape of the cell varies between plants and animals. Plant cells are more defined as shapes, such as squares. Their cell walls clearly define shape and hold the plant's structure. Animal cells edges are less defined. They don't need the same structural support as a plant. They can be loosely shaped also because they do not have a cell wall.

Internal Structures Functions:

Nucleus- Is like the brain of the cell.
Chloroplasts- Contain chlorophyll which captures energy from sun for photosynthesis which is how plants make their own food.
Smooth endoplasmic reticulum- connects nucleus to other parts of the cell like a highway it is referred to as a super highway.
Lysosome- Break down food and waste with digestive enzymes.
Ribosomes- Where protein synthesis occurs.
Vesicles- Transport stuff for the cell like food or protein.

This was fun I really enjoyed the multimedia exercise with the cells. I like to see what I am learning and not always just read so I had fun doing these exercises. On the syllabus I printed out it did not mention writing 200-300 words on the cells but in the materials forum it did...
