Riordan Manufacturing has provided plastic components to industries worldwide for many years and today they are finding it a daunting task to keep up with all the invoices and tracking file to each client. It has been presented to Team C by Hugh McCauley, COO to present an up to date manner of handling the entire inventory and manufacturing logs. The team has determined the use of an Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) to include Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and implement radio-frequency identification label (RFIDtag) within a Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP) platform to be in the best interest of the company. The updating of the systems will allow the company to track all manufacturing invoices for products automatically being placed in each client’s order in the system. Thus the system will give the most up to date status of the shipment in addition to reducing the amount of human error allowing more accurate checks and balances on orders received. The use of the new systems will allow for faster data transfer times and keep an up to date quantity of materials needed and supplied.
