Riordan Manufacturing, Inc. was founded by a chemistry professor, in Albany, Georgia, by the name of Dr. Riordan. Dr. Riordan originated numerous patents in relation to dispensing polymers; which are natural and synthetic compounds of usually high molecular weight consisting of up to millions of repeated linked units; into strong plastic. Logically identifying his patent, Dr. Riordan began Riordan Plastics, Inc. in 1991.
Riordan Manufacturing became one of the most common companies as technology spread across the internet. When Dr. Riordan first began the company the focal point was research and the licensing of its presented patents. It was in 1993 when the company expanded and the name changed from Riordan Plastics to Riordan Manufacturing. By this time Dr. Riordan had received business capitol to purchase a manufacturing plant in Pontiac, Michigan. Since 1993, the company has expanded further, which took place in 2000, and opened a plant in China for operations. Which resulted in reorganization of the company’s manufacturing structure.
