There are many members in my community that look very similar to each other. For the Filipino American race many can tell by the shape of their nose. Not all types of races look the same; many are mixed with other types of races. In my community where I live it’s a very diverse place, there’s a high percentage though of Hispanics. Many Asian American do look the same especially the Filipino American race, many can tell by their appearance. There are several Asian Americans many who are Chinese, Japanese that also look very similar. Most can tell of how the way they look by their shape of their eyes.
In my neighborhood where I grew up it was very diverse. Many knew each other and made many friendships. My best friend when I was a child who was Hispanic American did not look too much of his race, he looked more Filipino. The rest of his family didn’t look to similar to him, his older siblings looked more like each other though. My other neighbor whose Mom was Mexican and the father American really was a unique type of mix of race in the neighborhood. When I first met them I never knew they spoke the Spanish language. It was a surprise for me that most of her children spoke Spanish.
My parents both grew up in the Philippines and immigrated to the U.S when they were very young. I never learned the Filipino language from them, but for many Hispanic Americans who do live in the U.S most of their children are bilingual. My parents who came from the Philippines, it was a challenge for them to adjust to the lifestyle here in the U.S. My dad immigrated to the U.S through the military.
