With advances in technologies affecting how we live, online banking has become a fast growing phenomenon. This technology is now being accepted in many countries. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the factors that influence consumers’ acceptance of online banking and online financial institutions in Pakistan, where recently it has been adopted at a very high ratio. Researchers wanted to examine the variables behind a shift from traditional banking to online banking.
What is the problem being examined?
Financial institutions wanted to improve their quality of service, provide ease of access, and maximize the advantages for both clients and service providers. Local banking branches were not enough to meet the demanding needs of consumers’ everyday lives. One solution resulted in the development and operation of an alternate deliverance channel, such as electronic or online banking. Online banking offered services, such as connecting to different branches of the same bank or even connecting to different banks. The convenience of online banking offered many favorable variables that would impact consumers’ acceptance.
