Currently thousands of children and adolescences are in the care and custody of The Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Though it is imperative to understand what the contributing factors to child abuse and neglect are, so they maybe prevented. The focus of this work is to look at ways that assistance is being provided.
The agency I work for The Northeast Center for Youth and Families, Inc (NCYF) the headquarters as well as the school are located on approximately four acres of land at 203 East Street, Easthampton, MA. The headquarters houses the agencies Human Resources Department, Information Technology Department, Fiscal Department, Medication Clinic, Property Management, Art Therapy Department, Residential Services, Family Services, and the office of the Executive Director. At the present time, two branch office are located in Medford MA they consist of two teams of case managers that provide community based in house services to both Bio Families and Foster Families Seven residential programs are currently in operation. Three of them located in Springfield, MA, two located in Northampton MA and two located in CT. NCYF is currently one of the leading agencies that provides varies service to youths and families in need. In 2007 the agency expanded its service into Connecticut by opening and operating two therapeutic residences in Lebanon and Mansfield CT. These two programs provide long-term treatment for adolescent male and female sex offenders, ages thirteen to eighteen. NCYF is a nonprofit organization. Its funding recourse consists of The Department of Children and Families MA, Department of Children and Families CT and primarily The Department of Mental Heath.
