...Steinbeck. Several characters have big dreams to escape there boring lives and live the future that they want. Like George and Lennie and how they want there own ranch to run themselves. Also there is Curley’s Wife and how she dreamt of being in pictures until her opportunity was robbed from her. All of them fill there heads with dreams and all they need to do is try hard to make them come true.
George, one of the biggest dreamers in the novel, dreams that he can run his own ranch. He wants to have the opportunity to leave work to see a baseball game and to live free of people that want to just cause trouble for them. In his dreams he wishes that he and lennie can do whatever they want when they want and not have to be bossed around by other superiors. Then all of Georges hopes of living the American dream are ruined and tarnished when Lennie, Georges only friend kill the owner of the ranch’s wife. Then saving Lennie from the mob from the ranch, he shoots and kills him. Not only killing his best and only friend but his dreams of a perfect, fraternal world.
Then there was Lennie and his dreams of co-running a ranch with his only friend George. Lennie a huge, strong man with a mental disability can not do much in his and George’s dream ranch, so George tells Lennie that he can run the rabbits and soft animals on the ranch. Lennie fascinates about the soft animals through out his whole time working on the ranch. Lennie tells stories to George, crooks, and candy about how he will run the animals and be able to pet them and play with them all day and how it will make him happier then anything. Lennie then ruins this dream by accidentally killing Curley’s Wife. She comes in to see him and let him stroke her soft beautiful hair. Overwhelmed by the sight of such soft hair he accidentally grabs it and hurts Curley’s Wife, as she screams Lennie is scared of getting...
