Explanatory reasoning : Record companies do not like artist to re- record or work with other artists when signed to this contract which I see as unfair, this is not giving the artist the opportunity to maximise their income and gain recognition from outside appearances adding this clause gives the opportunities to work outside this contract which will increase revenue.

Clause 1(B)

Amendment : change from 5 years to four (4) years following the end of the term.

Explanatory Reasoning: the 5 year term period is relatively long this is as is not justified.

Clause 2 (C)

Amendment; Please amend the 90 day cure period to read 10 days

Explanatory reasoning: Record companies have a time limit within which they have the right to exercise their option to extend the term of the agreement. The time period is so they exercise their option before that contract period expires. Record companies are away they may forget this time period . so before the contract end s the artist is required to notify the company first this gives the record company a few days to decide this period is known as the cure period I believe that ninety (90) days is to long the record companies has a long period of time to decide, which the artist should not be waiting around for answer and look for other options.

Amendment : To delete this clauses and add, In each period you agree to deliver in addition to the recording commitment further masters as we shall reasonably request, for use as bonus tracks for compact disc’s or B sides for singles.
