Gao asked for answers from no one after saw the dead body of his master, from “Hinotori” or Phoenix, the eternal life, Chapter Ho-o, a comic book of Teztsuka Osamu. As the same, a mankind has tried to find out for a long time. Why are we given life? What should we do with this life? These questions are raised but nobody can answer clearly. In my sight, life is just a little candle.
I suggest you try to imagine the picture of a candle compare with a living thing or a life. When a candle was lit up with fire, the frame at the top will appear as our lives have begun. A time passed, decay is occurred. There is nothing can be always stable. The one of the natural rules is changing. Everything can be changed by time. As the same, after the candle was lid up, the time passed for a while, it was melted down. All living things, after they have born, will pass a time, day to day, year to year, from young to old. While decay is occurred, a flame on a candle could be vanished away when it was blown by a heavy wind. Also, we can die if we face to an accident or not care or not be ware of ourselves. On the other hand, if we learn, understand, and know more, we can protect ourselves from danger and keep our lives longer. Similarly, a candle which made by mixing oil, could be over the heavy wind. Plus, heavy wind also raised the more bright flame. Lastly, when the time passed for a long time, a candle was melted down and the flame will be disappeared; likewise, our lives would be ended when the time of death has come.
At the beginning of this essay, I use a quotation from Gao, the character in Hinotori or Phoenix, the eternal life which I read last month. I found that this comic book can reflect the point of view about life. The story tells the value of life by the view of Phoenix, the eternal fire bird...
