Police officers need to have good communication skills. Knowing how to tactfully speak to people to avoid confrontation whenever possible is a necessity. Officers must possess the ability to communicate with superiors, peers, and subordinates effectively Officers must be prepared to handle a variety of challenges, including knowing when to use deadly force.
