...market in southern California. The brain-child of Kathy Kudler, Kudler Fine Foods was established in 1998 when its first store “broke ground” in the posh city of La Jolla. Since then, Kudler Fine Foods has expanded north to the coastal communities of Encinitas and Del Mar. Even though successful in launching and growing her business, Kathy Kudler “controls” every aspect of Kudler’s day-to-day operation.
This is the most prominent issue surrounding management; Kathy Kudler’s heavy-handed management role. Kathy has hired managers and managerial assistants at each location, but she does not delegate workload or empower the personnel whom she hired to manage and help manage her business. Kudler Fine Foods has arrived at a crossroad; reorganize and restructure for the health of this company or continue down the path to operational failure.
As of my promotion, I have been informed that my team will be restructured and become responsible for hiring and training of new and current employees. I have always stated that a business is only as successful as its management team and now I have the opportunity to share my ideas with Kathy and the management staff. The following interoffice letter to Kathy and Teresa will detail my proposal.
