Chapter 2
·Scout went to school for the first time.
·She already got in trouble; the teacher does not like her because Scout can read; she wants Atticus to stop teaching her.
·Walter Cunningham did not have lunch and scout tried to explain to Miss Caroline that the Cunninghams were poor and did not borrow money that they knew they could not repay.
·Miss Caroline whipped her hand, and sent her to the corner for saying that.
Chapter 3
·Scout was beating up Walter when Jem came over, told her to stop, and invited Walter to dinner.
·At the dinner table, Scout criticized Walter for the way he eats and Cal chewed her out.
·Back at school, Miss Caroline was told that Burris Ewell would never come back to school; this all came up because he had lice in his hair. Burris called her names and stormed off. The kids comforted the sobbing teacher.
·When Scout came home, she found Cal making her favorite, crackling bread.
·Scout told Atticus that she did not want to go to go to school, like Burris; however Atticus knows that they are better people than the Ewells. The entire family cannot live inside the law.
The father made a deal, they would still read together if she went to school.
Chapter 4
·Scout found some gum without a wrapper inside a tree, in the Radley lot.
·Jem came home and told her to spit it out and wash her mouth out.
·The day school ended, the two kids found two polished pennies in the same tree.
·I think that Boo Radley is putting the stuff in the tree.
·When Dill came back a little fatter, they made up the Boo Radley game, where they imitated Boo.
·Scout did not want to play because Atticus knew what they were doing and the day Jem pushed her down the street inside a tire, which hit the Radley house, she heard something laughing.
Chapter 5
·Jem and Dill got close and pushed Scout out.
