The Warren Commission was set up by President Lyndon Johnson. He appointed nine people, headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Earl Warren to be members of a commission that was to investigate the late John Fitzgerald Kennedy’s assassination.

On the 24th of September 1964 the Warren Report was submitted and published in twenty six volumes. The report concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated John Fitzgerald Kennedy on Friday the 22nd of November 1963 on private motives alone and therefore created the theory of the “Lone Gunman”. This proclamation eradicated any suggestion that the assassination had been a conspiracy.

The report states that Lee Harvey Oswald killed the president using a 6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano rifle on the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository. His rifle; an old World War Two model had fired a total of three bullets. These bullets had all been fired from behind Kennedy. One of the three shots had missed the motorcade completely. The first shot that had struck Kennedy hit his back, went out through his throat area, then struck Connally, The governor of Texas. He was seated in front of Kennedy and was hit in the chest. The bullet then travelled through his right wrist. The “mechanical” bullet finally stopped its path of destruction when it landed in Conally’s left thigh. Oswald was also charged with the murdering Officer J.D Tippet with four revolver shots in order to avoid arrest on the same day as he shot the president.

The incriminating evidence that points to Oswald includes a rifle found in the School book depository’s sixth floor which had his palm print taken from the barrel of the gun....
