Today, there are now 10 to 20 million people using an Internet comprised of more than 30,000 networks spread out over 78 nations all over the world.
Now the Internet has become a great electronic gateway that provides instant access to global news and information. The databases, documents, files, and programs that are ¡°sitting¡± on Internet computers contain a tremendous amount of information. You can search for and find up-to-the-minute stock market activity, weather reports, music, recipe; you can make free long distance call; you can purchase goods; you can chat and see your friends. It seems you can do any thing you want.
In order to cope with increasing competition, the managers have always effort to gain a competitive advantage throughout the implementation of Internet. So the fundamental purpose of our report is to outline the effective ways associated with the implementation of Internet that can help managers to improve their performance.
Our report would like to discuss the effective ways for managers to use Internet in three aspects. The first is how managers can compete in the business world through searching and monitoring external information by using Internet. The second aspect is how managers can approach specific knowledge and experts to increase management skill through Internet. Then, we will talk how managers use Internet as a tool to improve management performance. At last, we will briefly discuss some risks for using Internet.
