Throughout the history of the world there have been many economic, political, and social changes. Many changes of which were necessary to better the living standards of the people in the world. A few people that have influenced the need for change in the world would be Karl Marx, Adam Smith, and Eduard Bernstein. They influenced reforms in the economic and social structure of the world to better the working class.
In 1776, taking nine years of work, Adam Smith distributed An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, the first complete system of political economy. In it he disputed in support of an economic system based on individual self-interest that would be led, as if by an invisible hand, to accomplish the maximum good for all, and speculated the division of labor as the chief factor in economic growth. A result to the system of mercantilism then existing, it rests as the foundation of classical economics. The Wealth of Nations in time won him a massive reputation and would turn out to be practically the most significant work on economics ever published. Though often look upon as the bible of capitalism, it is severely important of the limitations of unreserved free endeavor and cartel.
Karl Marx studied law and philosophy, and was primarily influenced by the works of G. W. F. Hegel. Marx discarded the optimism of Hegel and developed a more materialistic theory of history as science, ultimately predicting that the triumph of the working class was unavoidable. With his colleague Friedrich Engels, Marx circulated the Communist Manifesto in 1848.
