o Install motion sensors for lights in all rooms, besides major walkways.
o Ask electrical provider about a green (renewable) energy tariff.
o Encourage the powering down of all equipment upon leaving the office; this should include printers, lights in cubicles. This may be easier if everything is on separate power protectors for one button shut off.
o Assign an employee, or create a rotating schedule of multiple employees, to assure that power is off during after hours. Choose people that leave later in the day (last person out).
o Create a checklist for that employee.
o Use energy efficient light bulbs.
o Install shades, or tint windows. Know the direction of the sun, and when the office is the warmest/coldest.
