Introduction
Events are now being given huge importance and Governments are supporting such events as a strategy for economic growth and as a key for promoting the country internationally. Events are often charecterised according to their size and scale. One could first start, by analysing two types of events which are Hallmark events and Mega events.

Hallmark events are defined by Ritchie as a “major one-time or recurring events of limited duration, developed primarily to enhance the awareness, appeal and profitability of a tourism destination in the short and/or long term.
