One of the division that interested me is Division 29- The Division of Psychotherapy of the American Psychological Association. The are of study for this division is mental health. This Division interested me because I have always found mental health to be (personality disorders etc.) to be extremely fascinating, and one of the parts of psychology that I would love to study more in depth.
The second division that interested me is Division 22- Rehabilitation Psychology. The area of study for this division is clinical service, research, teaching, or administration. This division interested me because I really knew nothing about it. I had heard of Rehabilitation Psychology before but did not really have a very good understanding of what it entitled.
The third division that interested me is Division 44- Society for the psychological study of lesbian, gay and bisexual issues. The area of study for this division is accreditation, bisexuality, professional standards, public policy, youth, families, ethnic/racial issues, and science. This division really interested me. It caught my eye almost as soon as I looked through all of the different divisions. I am strongly for the rights and privileges of gays, lesbians and bisexuals. I do not believe that they should be discriminated against just because of their sexual orientation so this division caught my attention right away.
The fourth division that interested me is Division 41- American Psychology- Law Society. The are of study for this division is the contributions of psychology to the understanding of law and legal institutions, the education of psychologists in legal matters and law personnel in psychological matters, and the application of psychology in the legal system.
