...in developing countries, technology change is a constant phenomenon in many organizations due to the intense global competition. However, one of an increasingly important issue with this has become how to prepare and train employees for effective modern technology transfers.

The motivation for this study is primarily focused on the experiences faced by ICL when they introduce a latest technology replacing the old technology. Here the management decision to transfer the technology at a rapid phase due to the competitive pressure caused engineering and production department to work under extreme pressure to get tight production schedules and to meet expected quality standards. They found difficult to train the operators and technicians to handle the new technology.

2.Problem Statement

Generally, in developing countries, workers are used to handle old technologies and there is a huge gap between the old and new technologies. Therefore, bridging this gap during a technology transfer project is a difficult task unless we develop proper strategies to develop HR. When new technologies are to be introduced, they find very difficult to grab the new technology. Sometimes even after giving comprehensive training programs only part of the knowledge can be transmitted and actually being used during their work. There are various reasons for this difficulty such as resistance to change, incapability to understand the new technology, background education is not supported for understanding new technology, tacit nature of knowledge required, etc
