Introduction:
This report will help us to understand the different strategies which are adopted by Electricité dé France (EDF) to be successful. As per porter (1980) Strategy is about winning. It involves choice of firms’ scope of product market activities. EDF has a sustainable approach, where it tries to keep the shareholders happy and at the same time takes care the stakeholders are not disappointed. EDF is also trying to bring Shareholder and stakeholder together with their own efforts to stay sustainable. They as an organisation are making proper integration of profit and responsibility, which will be explained briefly in the later part of the report.
The organisations are not only the ‘economic machines’ but also the networks of people, working together toward common goal. There is a conflict about the aims of the organisation and so the strategies of its success should be analyzed. According to neoclassical economic theory objective of the organisation is to maximize shareholder value and that this should be its objective function (Jensen, 2001). On the other hand the aim of the organisation which involves building the value for the stakeholders should also be considered.
