Nik traveled to “another part of the world-an island country of Kava, in the South Pacific to be exact (Business Scenario). This paper you will explain the preliminary considerations for Chase Bank to establish a greater presence in Kava.
The first thing that Nik noticed about the island of Kava was that it was a mess. It was not the paradise that he expected it to be. There was only one employee of the company that was on this remote island in the South Pacific. This employee is named Alex and he is the director of strategic planning for the organization. Alex is also Nik’s supervisor and mentor. The island of Kava has over fifty percent of their people under the age of fifteen. This is a potential problem for Nik and Alex, because Chase Bank has a policy not to hire anyone under the age of eighteen. Another potential problem that they may face is the high risk of terrorism inside and outside the country. Nik and Alex have to be concerned with the possible risk for money laudering.
Kava has an economy that deals with petroleum, coffee, cocoa, spices, bananas, sugar, tourism, fishing, and natural gas. The country also has many disaster threats with tsunamis, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, fires, volcanic eruptions, petroleum spills, and many others disaster threats. Although Kava seems to be a real mess, Nik realizes that Chase Bank can help Kava in many ways. By establishing several banking locations on the island it can help build the economy through jobs.
