Critical thinking is cold and dispassionate and will lead to slow downs in activity.
I disagree with the statement because critically thinking can be very interesting if the individual can think without being swept away by emotions and fear of the outcome. Critically thinking does not necessarily slow down the process but since critical thinking can introduce more aspect of issues that needs to be taken into consideration. Critical thinking can also be practiced and learned and when mastered can expedite the process by helping individuals looking in the right place for right answers and not wasting any time thinking about the issues that are not directly related or affecting the situation.

2. What is the best way to handle assumptions in critical thinking? Can’t we just ignore them?
Assumptions are very important in the critically thinking process and can help in solving mysteries but can also make a simple problem more complicated if the individual continue to proceed with action based on false or invalid assumptions. Assumptions should not be ignored because they can bring success if true and can also bring failures if the assumptions are invalid. Assumption should only be ignored if not logical or can produce a loop that leads to more assumptions with out validation or proof.

3. What is the best way to handle emotions in critical thinking? Can’t we just avoid them?
Emotions play a very important role in critical thinking because emotions can also relate to reasoning and beliefs. Emotions introduce another aspect of favoritism toward one aspect and hatred towards another. Emotions are very difficult to avoid but if the emotions are evaluated with rational criteria they can provide useful information or deeper approach toward a subject in critical thinking process.
