In this paper, the origin of the Unitarianism will be provided along with a personal interview from a Unitarian believer who provides a first hand experience on what its like to worship among Unitarians. Finally a comparison and contrast analogy of both Unitarianism and Judaism will highlight, while informing and educating the reader.
Unitarianism Unitarianism as a structured church grew out of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century CE. It started in Poland and Transylvania in the1560s, and was recognized as a religion in Transylvania within 10 years. Unitarians were viewed as religious nonconformist, believing that God was one, not three. They have always held that Jesus Christ was a man and though he undoubtedly was exceptional, he was not the God-made-man of most Christian belief. Unitarians believe that it is of the utmost importance to try to lead a moral life based on Christian principles. They do not; however adhere to the Fundamentalists' views on the infallibility of the Bible. Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry report the following facts about Unitarians.
There is a group known as the Unitarian Universalists Association. This denomination which was formed in 1961 in the United States when the American Unitarian Association and the Universalist Church of America merged. Its membership is around 175,000.
The General Convention of the Unitarian Universalists formulated the five principles of the Universalist Faith in 1899.
