The serial killers happen to be sexually dysfunctional having low self-esteem. Most of the time they are white, heterosexual males who are in their twenties and thirties. Their methodical ferment is almost sexual in nature. Serial killers basically are victims of fantasy that lead them to their murderous out burst. Most of the killers enjoy cannibalism, necrophilia and keep the body parts of the killed as a remembrance or trophy. Serial killers are found to attack children or women of their same race. They have also been found to choose prostitutes, vagrants and hitchhikers as their favorite victims. They may not kill many people at the same time but intend to kill people at intervals for years without being detected by the authorities. The reason behind their killing again and again is that they are very careful in choosing their victims. They choose victims who would not be missed by the society like prostitutes, homosexuals or migrant workers and may pick victims based on specifics such as physical build, hairstyle or sex desire.
