...the summer of 1957 – the beginning of a relationship that would spawn ungodly amounts of fame and fortune for the both of them.
When John Lennon was a teen, being as much a rebel as any teen will be, he formed a traditional sciffle music band called The Quarrymen. Sciffle music was the first mainstream music said to come from England and was a mixture of country and blues. After meeting Paul that summer, John encouraged him to join his band in hopes that something magical would happen. However, nothing magical was happening that first year the new band was together. In fact, it was quite hard on the members because they were are still in school.
The future third member of the group, George Harrison, began playing the guitar at a very young age and practically taught himself everything he knew. Not long after George joined the band, a young man named Stewart Sucliffe joined in an attempt to better his image around school. After all the members joined, the band went through a phase of constant name changes from Johnny and the Moon Dogs, then to The Silver Beatles, and then finally they picked a name that would follow them for the rest of their lives – The Beatles in 1960.
While living in Hamburg, The Beatles played at numerous venues. Although they lived in the worst of conditions, it only brought them closer together. And, as their crowd turnout began dwindling, a man named Bill Harry wrote a story in a local newspaper called the Messar Beat. This story prompted an interest for The Beatles to perform at The Liverland Town Hall and The Cavern; both very well-known music hotspots of that time.
Later on, a man named Brian Epstein heard The Beatles proceeded to tell them that they would be going straight to the top if they stick with him. He later referred the group over to George Martin – a man that would have one of the biggest impacts in The Beatles...
