Against The War In Iraq
...that the United States has no business still being in a war with Iraq. Sadam Hussein has been taken out of power and has been executed. I strongly believe that the United States troops being in Iraq is causing far more problems then doing our country and the world justice.
The United States believed that Sadam Hussein's regime was developing nuclear biological and chemical weapon programs that pose immediate threat to the Unites States. When contemplating whether of not to invade Iraq, congress and the people of the united state were lead to believe that going to war with Iraq was to capture and fortify the weapons of mass destruction that our president said was there and take President Sadam Hussein out of power and end his dictatorship. The United States went ahead with the war even with international protest. Other countries including the United Nations believed there was no conclusive evidence and since then has made more enemies with friends and enemies alike. The United States has seriously ruptured long standing relations with its most important allies (i.e. the United Kingdom), and has created more terrorists then we have killed and has brought a once somewhat peaceful country (Iraq) to civil war.
In President George W. Bush's presidential speech to our nation on July 28th. 2005 the president provided no solid claim regarding how much progress has actually been made in defeating terrorism in Iraq and the world. As long as the United States military forces remains in Iraq it will only create more "anti-Americanism" among the Arab, Muslim, and allies alike. This "anti-Americanism" will result in more terrorist attacks, not less like the president promised. This proof of anti-Americanism was broadcasted to the world with assault of the Iraqi prisoners made by American soldiers at Abu Ghraib.
