...of broken family? We are fortunate because we are not affected this issue. However, this issue is always happen around us. According to the survey that had been done recently by Berita Harian, the numbers of broken family in Malaysia was shown increasing from 3799 cases in 2007 to 5024 cases in 2008. These issue is caused by materialistic, alcohol, and violence.
Firstly, one of important the cause of broken family is materialistic. Nowdays, we live in city areas and the demand for material is high. We need to work hard to sustain our daily expenses. In my own experience, one of my neighbour goes to work early in the morning and comes back late everyday. Because of these situation he and his wife will quarrel almost everyday. These kind of problem will always cause to cases like divorce.
Secondly, another important cause of broken family is violence. Husband who have alcohol drinking habit often abuse their wife and children’s. Husbands who have pressure in working place cannot show their temper to their boss so, they will show their anger to their wife and children’s. Sometimes, they will break the things in their house and use vulgar words. Children’s who always used to these kinds of situation ended in crime such as vandalism, murder, and robberies. They dare to do anything because there is no one to control them. The problem will cause increase in crime.
Moreover, another cause of broken family is lack of communication. Nowdays, people are getting busy with their careers and jobs that they couldn’t spend more time with their loved ones. Money is more important than their family. Every individual is preoccupied with their own works and don’t have enough time to spend with their family. These kinds of causes make their children feel abandoned and left alone. These may affect their studies and behavior.
